# Volume of the Hemisphere

A hemisphere is half of a full sphere and the volume of a hemisphere is equal to two thirds multiplied by pi multiplied by radius to the power 3. This gives suggestion that calculate the volume of a sphere for the given radius and divide the answer by 2 to find the volume of the hemisphere.

## Volume of a Hemisphere Formula

The following in the formula to find the volume of the hemisphere.…where r is the radius of the hemisphere.

Example Calculate the volume of the hemisphere with a radius of 3cm.

Answer

*Using the formula…*Volume of Hemisphere: = (2/3)π3³
