I’m also analysing the purpose of the mirror in interior layout. In this article, the mirror is seen as something functional. There’s also obviously a decorative purpose to the mirror. But sometimes these points may be forgotten.
The mirror is work:
Suppose there is a small room e.g. a small-sized bathroom. In this bathroom, the mirror is obviously functional. It’s used by the guy for shaving for instance, to wash teeth. However, when a bit is really obviously functional as the mirror, then there are ways to make the mirror more decorative. I’m saying here that in some way, it is easier to make something so functional as the mirror inside this bathroom setting into something decorative. You can aim to get a mirror with a portion of ornamentation or you could decide to get a certain kind of glass to the mirror.
However, when a mirror is really obviously functional, you can add mirrors that are more decorative in goal. You can have for instance, mirrors in the foot level. You can have mirrors which just show the stomach level.
The mirror is ribbon:
From the living room, plenty of times the mirror is put over the fireplace and if you think about this, there seems to be something decorative relating to this. It’s decorative in the feeling that the mirror seems to be the main decoration. It’s a central piece of decorative furniture and although its purpose is obvious, decoration seems to be the primary purpose. If the main reason is decorative, then you can add to the interior by using other mirrors at a more functional setting and showing up the decorative purpose of this central mirror over the fireplace. Again in this living room setting, you can display up the performance and decorativeness of this mirror object by adding mirrors in foot flat along one of the walls.
Another interior design idea would be to set a folding mirror at the corner. . A sort of triptych of mirrors which fold inwards… Another idea would be to get a mirror on one wall continuing into the other walls; Different effects may be used- e.g. two long rectangular cushions of equal dimensions in the corners of every wall…or else the cushions do not need to be the same size at all. The mirror afterward is decoration and function. What about the mirror as distance as something which creates distance.
This is a famous intention of a mirror. When you have a large space e.g. a hallway you can use mirrors in various ways to create more space and you’ll be able to aim for this impact in tiny spaces such as an ordinary living room. Then the mirror may be used in such a way as to make the interior. This is sometimes achieved when there are mirrors combined a complete wall. There may be continuous mirrors along a wall or merely long vertical or horizontal rectangles of mirrors. You may take a mirror, then background then a mirror again. If the room is square, the corners of this space should have some layout component. The corners of the rooms are in which the walls ‘overlap’ and interior design effects may be used to highlight this region. The mirrors highlight in some manner the central space however, the side corners may also be highlighted through objects e.g. lampshades…
The mirror afterward is distance…and it is function. . And a great interior design idea would be to examine the mirror at a living room. If the mirror is all over the fireplace, ask why it is there. Is it for function or decoration or a different reason or probably a mix of those three. In a living room, you may be unwittingly using the mirror as a central decorative thing but you aren’t bringing out the full effect. This may be on account of the mirror itself or overall bad interior layout planning to your room. In interior design, the intention of the room is a significant concept. The issue of having a definite purpose to your room appears whenever you are looking at your room and its own distance. The mirror must have a specific purpose and this purpose could be drawn out through how in which the mirror or mirrors merges with the color tones in the room as well as the general distance and other furniture of this room.
