I’m also analysing the purpose of the mirror in interior layout. Within the following article, the mirror is seen as something functional. There’s also obviously a decorative function into the mirror. However sometimes these points may be forgotten.
The mirror is function:
Suppose there is a little room e.g. a small-sized toilet. Inside this bathroom, the mirror is obviously functional. It is used by the guy for shaving for instance, to wash teeth. But when a piece is really obviously functional as the mirror, there are strategies to produce the mirror more decorative. I’m saying here that in some way, it’s simpler to make something so functional as the mirror in this toilet setting into something decorative. It is possible to aim to get a mirror with a portion of ornamentation or you can decide to get a particular type of glass to the mirror.
But when a mirror is really obviously functional, it is possible to add mirrors which are more decorative in aim. You can have for instance, mirrors at the foot degree. You can have mirrors that only demonstrate the abdomen level.
The mirror is decoration:
From the living room, a lot of instances the mirror is place above the fireplace and if you think about it, there seems to be something decorative about it. It is decorative in the feeling that the mirror seems to be the main ornament. It is a central piece of decorative furniture and although its purpose is clear, decoration seems to be the main purpose. If the main reason is decorative, then it is possible to increase the inside by employing other mirrors at a more functional setting and showing up the decorative purpose of this central mirror above the fireplace. Again within this living room setting, it is possible to show up the functionality and decorativeness of this mirror item by adding mirrors at foot flat along one of the walls.
Another inside design idea would be to set a folding mirror at the corner. . A sort of triptych of mirrors that fold inwards… Another idea would be to get a mirror on one wall continuing in the additional walls; Different effects may be used- e.g. two long rectangular cushions of equal size at the corners of each wall…or other the cushions do not have to be the exact same size at all. The mirror afterward is function and decoration. Think about the mirror as space as a thing that creates space.
This is a famous intention of a mirror. When you’ve got a large space e.g. a hall it is possible to use mirrors in various ways to produce more space and you can aim with this effect in small spaces such as an ordinary living room. However since you currently have a huge space in a gathering hall or a large retail area for instance, how should mirrors be used? Then the mirror may be used in such ways as to make the inside. This can be achieved when there are mirrors along a complete wall. There may be constant mirrors along a wall or merely long vertical or horizontal rectangles of mirrors. You may take a mirror, subsequently wallpaper then a mirror again. If the room is square, the corners of this room should have some layout component. The corners of the rooms are where the partitions ‘float’ and inside design effects may be used to emphasize this area. The mirrors emphasize in some way the central space however, the side corners may also be highlighted through objects e.g. lampshades…
The mirror afterward is space…and it’s function. . And a good interior design idea would be to look at the mirror at a living room. If the mirror is all above the fireplace, then ask why it’s there. Can it be for function or decoration or a different motive or probably a mix of all three. In a living room, you might be unintentionally using the mirror as a central decorative object but you aren’t bringing out the complete effect. This might be because of the mirror itself or general bad interior layout planning to your room. In interior design, the intention of the room is a significant concept. The question of having a certain purpose to your room appears when you are looking at your room and its own space. The mirror needs to have a specific purpose and this function can be brought out through how the mirror or mirrors merges with the color tones in the room as well as the general space and additional furniture of this room.
